Layers and Crossroads of Legal Orders
The “Layers and Crossroads of Legal Orders” program, held on 26–29 March 2026 in Cluj-Napoca, is an international academic event devoted to exploring the interaction of multiple legal systems in Europe. It brings together scholars and young researchers to examine how international, European Union, and national legal orders overlap, influence one another, and sometimes conflict across various fields of law.

Contemporary Hungarian Company Law – Current Issues, Developments, Challenges
The 31st National Meeting of Civil Law Teachers was successfully held on 25 March 2026 at the University of Miskolc, Faculty of Law. The event, conducted in Hungarian, was organized by the Departments of Commercial and Civil Law of the Institute of Civil Sciences, Faculty of Law, University of Miskolc, in cooperation with the Civil Law Working Committee of the Miskolc Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Central European Association for Comparative Law, and the Foundation for Legal Education in Miskolc.
The conference featured two sessions covering a wide range of contemporary issues in Hungarian company law. Scholars and professionals shared their research and insights, fostering meaningful discussions.

Civil and Commercial Codes: Dualism vs Monism in Private Law – A Historical Perspective
The conference “Civil and Commercial Codes: Dualism vs Monism in Private Law – A Historical Perspective”, marking the 150th Anniversary of the Hungarian Commercial Act (1875–2025), brings together leading scholars to examine the historical evolution and contemporary relevance of dualist and monist approaches in private law. Through comparative perspectives spanning multiple European jurisdictions, the programme explores the interaction between civil and commercial law, addressing both doctrinal foundations and modern regulatory challenges. The event provides a platform for in-depth academic dialogue on codification traditions, judicial practice, and the future development of private law systems in Europe.

Contemporary Legal Challenges in the Central Eastern European Region
The study trip “Contemporary Legal Challenges in the Central Eastern European Region” (27–30 March 2025, Cluj-Napoca) brought together participants of the CEA Junior Programme—students engaged in advanced legal studies—for a combination of academic exchange and historical exploration. The programme featured a workshop with presentations on pressing legal issues in Central and Eastern Europe, including human rights, family law, labour law, and nuclear regulation, fostering comparative and interdisciplinary discussion. Complementing the academic sessions, participants explored key historical sites connected to Transylvania’s legal heritage, linking contemporary legal challenges with their historical and institutional context.
