First issue of CER' Newsletter 2025

Central European Academy Law Review Vol. 1 No. 2 (2023)

Our second issue is divided into two parts. The first part is titled Flagship Studies, presenting the work of a more renowned professor, and the second part is titled Articles, arising from the works of young researchers. The topics are diverse. They focus on tax law, space law, criminal procedure, or human rights law.


Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Law Vol. 19. No. 37 (2024)

The primary focus of the issue no. 37 of the Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Law is on agricultural law issues, more specifically the restitution of agricultural lands. This issue includes articles on Slovenian, Croatian, Serbian, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Czech, Macedonian, Bosnian-Herzegovinian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian law.

European Integration Studies Vol. 20 No.1 (2024)

The studies in this issue are published in partnership with Children’s Rights Days 2023 and supported by the Central European Academy.

Law, Identity and Values Vol. 4 No. 1 (2024)

The volume offers an in-depth examination of issues concerning the EU Member States of Central and Eastern Europe. The topics are important to understand the region’s challenges, such as economic governance and tax law, the situation of asylum seekers, the rule of law and the autonomy of Member States.

Central European Journal of Comparative Law, Vol. 5 No. 1 (2024)

This thematical issue provides a great variety of different legal aspects of migration and refugee affairs, mainly from the East-Central European point of view, such as national reports on regulation and practice of border defence and illegal migration, or, inter alia, general considerations on nonrefoulement, religious freedom or migration crime.

New issue of the Serbian leading legal journal Annals: Belgrade Law Review Vol. 72 No. 4 (2024)

The Annals of the Faculty of Law in Belgrade continues the tradition of the Journal for legal and social sciences that goes back more than a century. The fourth issue for the year 2024 exclusively features articles in English.

The Confederation of Unions of Professionals and the szakszervezetek.hu website jointly announce the Dura-Kuti Prize Call for Proposals 2024. The application deadline is 1 March 2025.

Conference on Intellectual Property Rights

On Tuesday, 10 December, 2024, the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce hosted the conference “Contemporary Challenges in Intellectual Property Law.” The event was organized by the Belgrade Conference of Lawyers (BEKOP) in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office.

World Congress on Family Law and Children’s Rights (WCFLCR)

WCFLCR, organized by Universal Research Cluster, will take place in Warsaw on 4 February, 2025. This event aims to unite leading academics, researchers, and scholars to share their research and experiences on all aspects of Family Law and Children’s Rights.

Individual Autonomy, Fundamental Rights, and Institutional Safeguards

The Central and Eastern European Chapter of the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S) is pleased to invite submissions to its 2025 annual conference taking place at the ELTE Law School, Budapest, Hungary. The conference is convened by Bernadette Somody, Zoltán Pozsár-Szentmiklósy, Gábor Kajtár, Krisztina Rozsnyai, Barbara Havelková and Silvia Şuteu and will take place on 29–30 May, 2025.

ELTE Law School offers a masterclass on EU Law with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Armin von Bogdandy, professor and doctor honoris causa of ELTE Law School between 23-24 January, 2025 taking place at ELTE Law School (1053 Budapest, Egyetem square 1-3.). The participation is free, registration is required.

Workshop in Luxembourg

The Central European Academy is organising another exciting study trip, this time to Luxembourg on 10-12 February, 2025. The participants, PhD students from the Ferenc Deák Doctoral School of the Faculty of Law at the University of Miskolc and Scientific Researchers at the Central European Academy, will explore the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

The panel discussion is organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb on 12 February, 2025 moderated by Prof. Dr. Marija Bartl, the discussant is Prof. Dr. Matej Avbelj.

The University of Belgrade Faculty of Law is now receiving paper proposals for the Sixth student conference on legal history – the Iustoria 2025, to be held on 25-27 March, 2025, its topic being “War and peace (in legal history)”.
