Journal “Foreign Legal Life” Vol. 68 No. 4 (2024) (February 2025)

The latest issue of Foreign Legal Life, published by the Institute of Comparative Law in Belgrade, is entirely dedicated to the challenges and perspectives of arbitration in Southeast and Central Europe. International Conference on 20 Years of the UNCRPD – “20 Years of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Achievements and Perspectives”

The year 2026 will mark the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), which was passed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 13, 2006. The Institute of Comparative Law in Belgrade invites academics and policymakers to submit papers addressing key achievements and challenges related to the implementation of the CRPD. The conference will take place on September 25–26, 2025.

On Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 12 PM, the Institute for European Studies was organized a lecture by H.E. Dragana Filipović, titled “Council of Europe – Crisis of Significance and the Role of International Organizations in a Rapidly Changing World.”

“Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities – Challenges of Implementation” – lecture hold by Emma Lantschner in the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law 

How is the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities applied in practice? What are the key challenges we face in its implementation? 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Emma Lantschner from the University of Graz, an expert in the rights of national minorities and the fight against discrimination, will discuss these and other important issues at a guest lecture as part of the Erasmus course Rights of Minorities in Europe, on 4 April 2025 from 12:00 to 13:30 in the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law, Hall 5, TRH 3. The language of the lecture is English.
