Lilla Garayova: Slovakia’s 2025 Constitutional Amendment - Traditional Values and National Identity in the Constitution

The study is about the amendment of the Slovak Constitution passed in September 2025 by the Slovakia’s National Council. Lawmakers framed the changes as “safeguarding the traditions and cultural heritage” of the nation against perceived liberal influences.

Digital services, competition in the digital markets, AI and copyright in the focus of the “Internet Dialogue 2025” Conference – 11-12 September 2025

The University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation (RNIDS) organized for the eleventh consecutive time the annual conference “Internet Dialogue” dedicated to digital technologies law. This year’s conference was held on 11 and 12 September 2025 in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Conference marking 20 years of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities – Belgrade, 25-26 September 2025

On 25th and 26th September 2025, the Institute of Comparative Law in Belgrade, in co-organization with the Faculty of Law “Josip Juraj Strossmayer” of the University of Osijek, hosted the conference “20 Years of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”.

ASCEA IV Conference in Budapest – Two Days, 24 Panels, 24 Topics on 2-3 October 2025

The Central European Academy hosted the ASCEA IV Conference on October 2–3, 2025 in Budapest, bringing together young legal scholars from across the region to foster professional dialogue and collaboration. Over the course of two days, participants attended 24 thematic panels covering a wide range of legal topics, including constitutional law, energy law, contract law, and international law.

International Conference “EU Accession. 20 Years of Poland’s Membership and Serbia’s Path to European Integration” – Belgrade, 2-3 October 2024

The International Conference „EU Accession. 20 Years of Poland’s Membership and Serbia’s Path to European Integration” was held at the Institute of Comparative Law Belgrade from 2nd to 3rd October 2025. It was organized by the Institute of Comparative Law and the Chair of European Law, the Faculty of Law and Administration from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

V CEA Supervisors’ Workshop – Budapest, 16-17 October 2025

The fifth edition of the Central European Academy Supervisors’ Workshop took place on 16–17 October 2025 in Budapest. The workshop once again brought together early-career researchers and doctoral candidates to present their research projects, exchange ideas, and engage in scientific discussion across disciplines.

2025 JAEL Environmental Protection Liability Conference – Budapest, 6-7 November 2025

This year’s JAEL conference focused on environmental liability, examined through a spectrum of legal perspectives — from the role of constitutional rights and state duties in environmental protection, to civil liability and compensation for environmental harm, the creation and enforcement of administrative measures, as well as the investigation, prosecution, and adjudication of environmental crimes. 

International Conference on Law and Politics – Lublin, 12-13 November 2025

By attending this conference in Lublin (12-13 Nov), participants engaged in cross-disciplinary dialogue on law and politics, connect with scholars and practitioners, and contribute to the global renaissance of science in the humanities.

Children’s Rights Days IV – 2-3 December 2025

The year of 2025 continues the tradition of the Children’s Rights Days international conference series, focusing on one of the most pressing issues in the field, ensuring that children’s voices are not only formally acknowledged but genuinely represented and meaningfully included in decision-making processes for all the stakeholders. 

Thesis Workshop

On 20–21 October 2025, the Central European Academy held its PhD Thesis Workshop, designed to provide fourth-year doctoral students with practical experience in defending their dissertation research. The workshop closely simulated the formal defence process, enabling candidates to present their key findings and arguments, respond to critiques, and address questions from experts. 

Tax autumn at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law – 16 October 2025

Under joint initiative of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and the German Government foundation GIZ, Serbian Fiscal Society organised a series of lectures. The first two were delivered by the Prof. Dr. Karolina Tetlak from the University of Warsaw on Thursday 16th October 2025.

V Hungarian Law Book Salon

Continuing the tradition, the Hungarian Law Book Fair, organized by the Hungarian Lawyers Association and the Constitutional Court, opened its doors for the fifth time. Once again, it was held in the impressive building of Károli Gáspár Reformed University, the Károlyi–Csekonics Palace, where our Institute was also participated as an exhibitor.
